Delete your DoneThis Today account and data
DoneThis Today, by Julien Colot · Last updated: 2026-09-23.
This page explains how to delete your DoneThis Today account and the data linked to it, on the web and in the Android app.
Delete your account and all data
- Send an email to julien@donethis.today with the subject "Delete my account".
- Send it from the email address you signed in with (the email of your Google or GitHub account if you used one of those). That's how I confirm the request is yours.
- Your account and all its data are deleted within 30 days, usually much sooner. You'll get a confirmation email when it's done.
Delete your data but keep your account
You can delete your task data yourself, right away, without contacting anyone:
- Open DoneThis Today and sign in.
- Tap the Settings (gear) icon, then open the Data tab.
- Under Delete everywhere, type
DELETEand confirm. This removes your tasks, checklists, and history from the device and from the sync server.
What gets deleted
- Account: your email address, display name, password (if you set one), linked Google/GitHub sign-ins, and active sessions.
- Content: your tasks, checklists, check items, groups, reminders, activity history, and app settings stored on the sync server.
What is kept, and for how long
- Server logs (timestamp, path, status code, IP address, user agent) aren't erased one by one. They roll over and are gone within a few weeks.
- Your deletion request email is kept for up to 12 months as a record that the request was handled, then deleted.
- Data on your own devices: a copy of your tasks may stay in the app's local storage on devices where you used it. Remove it with Settings → Data → Clear local data, or by uninstalling the app or clearing site data in your browser.
